The Texas Statewide Youth Services Network (SYSN), implemented through the Texas Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs (TXA) as TEXSYN, is funded by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Family Support Services (FSS) program.

The Texas Statewide Youth Services Network (TEXSYN) Project

Over 1400 at-risk youth ages 10 through 17 years of age are served annually. All youth served exhibit two or more priority characteristics that place them at risk of being referred to the juvenile justice system.

The program provides statewide prevention and early intervention. Services are delivered through a network of sub-awarded Boys & Girls Club organizations across Texas, providing consistent, high-quality youth development programming in out-of-school time settings, including (1) BGC Experience; (2) Project Learn and (3) SMART Moves Core and SMART Moves Emotional Wellness.

Programming is designed to provide safe, supportive environments, positive youth-adult relationships and evidence-informed curriculum and enrichment experiences and are designed to:

  • Promote healthy outcomes for youth and families
  • Reduce risk of youth involvement in the juvenile justice system
  • Improve social-emotional development and well-being
